- Team member must be in good standing and have shown dedication to the PcPerspective Folding Frogs Folding@Home project for the long haul. The team member must have been actively folding for the Folding Frogs team for at least 90 days. Past participation and contributions are taken into account. The PcPerspective Folding Frogs are recognized as team number 734, as is recognized by the Folding@Home project, hosted by The Pande Group of Stanford University, as well as www.folding-community.org.
- The member must be able to provide Adopt-A-Frog with a safe and secure environment for an extended period of time - this means an indeterminate period.
- You must be knowledgeable in building computers and loading operating systems, and all that is entailed. In the event the rig should fail, the host is expected to make good faith efforts to repair it. These means may include soliciting help from fellow team members as well as soliciting replacement components from the team. Although considered "Cool", a host is not expected to pay anything out of pocket to repair said rig.
- Dedicated, "always-on" Internet connection 24/7, 56K and up, and a free port on an existing network (we don't normally supply routers/hubs/switches with the Adopt-A-Frog rig). If the internet connection should fail, the host is expected to make good faith efforts to get back on line as soon as is possible.
- The computer must run and as a result, "Fold" 24/7 exclusively. (Yes, the Team is generous enough to allow you to go on vacation and turn it off.) Said computer is not intended to replace your rig for gaming, etc. Keep in mind that 24-hour operating will increase your electricity bill by up to a few dollars per month. The Team expects the host to make good faith efforts to keep the rig running as much as is possible.
- The computer shall Fold for team #734, under the user name of "Adopt-A-Frog_X" (X = Adopt-A-Frog rig no.) exclusively. The team can/will monitor the rigs output by way of statistics provided by Stanford, Statsman and the like. Be sure to instill the user name as shown here so as to be consistent with the other computers.
- In the event the host can no longer host the Adopt-A-Frog rig or he/she is not able to run the rig for an extended period of time (that being 4 weeks or more) due to things like being called to duty in the armed forces for example, it is to be returned to an www.pcper.com Folding forum moderator or www.pcper.com Administrator within two weeks. The shipping costs involved with returning said rig shall be the responsibility of the host.
- What does the host get out of this? The pride of being known as a host of an "Adopt-A-Frog" rig as provided by, and for, the greatest Folding team known world-wide. That being team number 734. The PcPerspective Folding Frogs.
- All Adopt-A-Frog hosts shall post in this Forum, a full inventory of their AAFx rig(s). Said inventory thread shall be locked with links provided in the Folding forums newsletter; The Lilypad Register. Said inventory thread shall be posted on or about Jan. 1, April 1, Aug. 1, and Oct. 1. PM BC for correct inventory format.
- All Adopt-A-Frog hosts shall be at least 18 years of age and be able to provide proof.
