The Adopt A Frog project was originally inspired by our folding brothers over at Short-Media. It is a project that consists of spare computer parts that are donated by members of the Folding Frogs. When enough parts are accumulated, the parts are sent off to a qualifying member to assemble, maintain, and fold, under team 734, for a cure.
Donating to the AAF Project is easy. When a new project is fixing to start, a thread is generally created informing the community of the upcoming project. You can post in the thread that you want to donate and list what parts you can spare. Alternatively, you can contact one of the Folding Moderators with said information via PM. Once a host is chosen, you can send your spare parts directly to the host via your prefered shipping method. If you have a multiple numbers of the same part you wish to donate (6 hdd's for instance) you can ship all of them at once to a moderator who will disperse them as the projects come up.
Monetary donations are accepted in different forms. You can donate by purchasing one of our cool case badges from our Case Badge Store, or you can send via PayPal, snail mail, or other means in the form of a money order or cash. Please contact a folding moderator for details.
In order to become a host for an Adopt A Frog rig, you must be able meet, agree, and follow our Rules and Guidelines. Once you have read the rules and requirements, you will need to fill out our online application. Once you have completed and submitted your application, it (along with others) will be reviewed by our folding moderators and a decision made. After the decision is made, if selected to be the host of the next AAF rig, you will be notified via PM and a thread will be created in our folding community.
Please refer to rule #7 of our Rules and Guidelines.
